- Aug 30, 2015 · A book on the 460 engine by Tom Monroe claims it is casting number. D4VE. But I have not one but two 460 engines I removed from 1978 Lincoln Mark Vs and all 4 cylinder heads from them have casting number D3VE-A2A. The Tom Monroe book claims D3VE-A2A was used in from 1972-1974.
